Steel of Fire Warriors 2010 A.D. - So Bad It's ... OK
Friday, November 5, 2010 at 8:05PM I'd seen references to a movie called Steel of Fire Warriors 2010 A.D. for a while. It was supposed to be a campy, cheesey parody of 80's post-apocalyptic adventure movies, so when I saw that it was available on Amazon's Video on Demand service for only $3, I decided to give it a try.
The summary reads: "First the world was normal, everyone was happy. Then, the apocalypse happened and everything changed. Politics failed. Civilization fell into disarray. Out of the muck of this primordial devastation rose the hideous, deformed and evil Mutantzoids destroying everything in sight with their horrible mutant powers and appearances. None would stand in their swath of destruction, with the possible exception of... STEEL OF FIRE WARRIORS 2010 A.D."
It turns out $3 was probably more than they spent making this movie. To call it a B-movie is a kick in the nuts to all the other B-movies that have come before; this is more like a C or even a D-Movie. The props are plastic, the costumes were all home-made, and I can't imagine how many rolls of aluminum foil went into making their sidekick, Robobot.
But don't let me give you the idea that I didn't like it. This movie wasn't quite great, but it was definitely enjoyable, and even very funny in parts. It's chock full of lines like "Ah my friend! Seeing you has caused joy to ejaculate into my heart!" and "I'm going to find Gilgazorg and kill his ass until it's dead from me killing it so much!" It's exactly the kind of movie that I'd love to make if I had any idea how to make a movie. Well, actually I gues it's the kind of movie I'd make if I had no idea how to make a movie, but that shouldn't stop you from watching it.
Apparently, it was originally released as a series of shorts on Funny or Die, but for some reason I can't find the final episode on the site. It's also available on DVD (Amazon's DVD on demand service), but I don't think I'd pay $16 for it. So check out the trailer below and if you want to see more, Amazon is probably your best bet. It's worth the $3... barely.

Yikes!!!! What’s really shines though is these guys looked like they had a ball making this little jewel. Also PA needs more interracial girl on girl action.
