Want To Buy Some PA Stuff?  Buy-PA.com

Over the years, I've amassed quite a family of post-apocalyptic-themed websites.  In addition to this blog, I've got my PA news stream at PostApocalyptic.info, a short URL service at PA-Ne.ws, live chat at PA-Talk.com, a wiki at PA.Wikia.com, and of course the forum at PostApocalypticForum.com.  Between domain registrations, server costs, and paid services, running all that comes to about $50 per month.

I've never been a fan of ads on websites, so I don't have any on any of mine.  I've considered using Google ads, but I really don't like how they mess with the look of a site, so for now, my only source of income has been my Amazon aStore at Megaton.us/bookstore.  I've had that store up for a few years now, and have never had a single sale off of it, so I thought I'd try to find a way to make it easier for readers to support the site, without blatantly shoving ads in their face.

So I registered yet another domain, which I hope will be easy for all of you to remember, Buy-PA.com.

Buy-PA.com will bypass even my aStore, and will take you directly to Amazon's list of items tagged "post-apocalyptic", and any purchase you make during that visit, whether a PA item or not, will give me a small kickback (currently something like 4% I think).

So if you're reading one of my reviews, and you think to yourself "Yeah, I'd like to read that", Buy-PA.com.  Or you're on the forum discussing the latest releases on blu-ray and something catches your fancy, Buy-PA.com.  Or maybe you're kicking back on the couch and you decide that you could really use a Portuguese Tourbillon Mystère Watch, please please please, Buy-PA.com.

So no matter where you are, or what you want to buy, as long as it's on Amazon, if you're not already using someone else's affiliate code, I'd appreciate it if you'd use mine.

UPDATE: I've had some requests to create shopping links for our non-American visitors, so I joined the affiliate programs for Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de.

The direct links including my affilate code are UK.Buy-PA.com and De.Buy-Pa.com.

Cool idea, but do you think Buy-PA.com will get any visitors from google?

Yeah, you're right, it won't have any affect on Google at all. I was mostly thinking of people who already know about the blog or the Post-Apocalyptic Forum, and wanted something that might stick in their mind when they wanted to go shopping.

Maybe I'll think about iframing in the Amazon page into a real page of my own, so that I can mess with the SEO on it. And actually, it looks like a Google for "post-apocalyptic bookstore" brings you right to my Amazon store page already.

Maybe if I tagged the new page right I could get up there in the results for a more general search like post-apocalyptic books or something.

He, it seems that the german amazon link "http://de.buy-pa.com " isn't working correctly. It leads me to "amazon.de", not to your specific list.

Yeah, you're right about the Amazon.de site. I couldn't figure out how to search for post-apocalyptic stuff in German, so I sent it to the home page. But my tracking code should still be embedded in each item, so I'll get a small percentage of anything you buy.
