The Black Dawn Redux

Almost a year ago, I wrote a post about a web serial I had just discovered, The Black Dawn.  Back then, it was a 24 episode web series, plus a ton of additional content including prequel videos and even a comic book.

The series tells the story of 13 college students who appear to be the only survivors of a viral plague that kills everyone around them in minutes, while a strange black cloud covers the entire city. Over the course of the series, they try to solve the mystery of who or what caused The Black Dawn, and why they're still alive.

I just got an email from the creators saying the series has been remastered and re-edited into a seven episode TV series, including new scenes from the prequel, video blogs, and more. They said this new TV series version is the best and most comprehensive way to experience The Black Dawn.

And now, in addition to being able to purchase all seven episodes (DRM-free) for just $3, you can now watch the entire series for free on Hulu (if you live in the US at least).

I really liked the show the first time I watched it, and I took the time to go through a lot of the prequel content as well.  Now I'm looking forward to seeing it all re-cut and edited into a single integrated story.

If you want to check it out, head over to TheBlackDawn.com or straight to the premier episode on Hulu.
