Duck, and Die Anyway
Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 9:20PM An intentially dark and ironic compilation dramatizing my revulsion to the prospect of nuclear war.
This is not meant as a "Look Look, Big Explosion!" video. It goes from campy to gruesome in short order. The audio is from two 1950s "educational" films, "Survival Under Atomic Attack" and, of course, "Duck and Cover." The video clips are primarily fictional, from the following programs and films: The Day After, Threads, Terminator 2, Terminator 3, Day After Disaster (History Channel), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Sum of All Fears, The Peacemaker, The Watchmen, First Strike, Superman (I, III, & IV), Smallville, Jericho, Paycheck, Miracle Mile, Dr. Strangelove, Battlestar Galactica, By Dawn's Early Light, World War III, The Crazies, The Simpsons, Hot Shots, Platoon, GI Blues, Stripes, Godzilla, the Toxic Avenger, and a few random bits from around the web. The concluding audio clip is taken from "On the Beach."
